Methodology
How this TDEE calculator works
BMR formula
We use Mifflin-St Jeor: BMR = 10 x weight(kg) + 6.25 x height(cm) - 5 x age + sex adjustment. The adjustment is +5 for male and -161 for female.
Activity factor
TDEE is BMR multiplied by the selected activity factor.
Calorie goals
Calorie targets are rounded to the nearest 25 cal/day before they are shown or applied.
These estimates are a starting point, not medical advice or a diagnostic tool. Consult your doctor or a qualified clinician before making health, diet, or weight changes.
FAQ
TDEE calculator questions
TDEE means total daily energy expenditure. It estimates how many calories you burn per day after combining your baseline metabolism with your activity level.
Levelday uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for BMR, then multiplies that estimate by your selected activity factor to estimate TDEE.
Treat it as a starting estimate. Track calories, body weight, and trends for a few weeks, then adjust your target based on real progress.
